Dr. Maher Lawand
DDS
Welcome to the world of dentistry, where passion meets precision, and smiles are crafted with care. I’m Dr. Lawand, and my journey in the realm of oral health has been a fulfilling odyssey marked by dedication, education, and a commitment to community well-being.
I embarked on my academic pursuits at the University of Texas at Dallas, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Healthcare Studies. My thirst for knowledge led me to delve deeper into the intricacies of the human body, earning a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. Determined to merge my scientific background with practical skills, I achieved my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry.
My quest for excellence didn’t stop there—I honed my expertise at the Resnik Institute of Implant Dentistry, solidifying my commitment to staying at the forefront of dental innovation. As a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, I strive to uphold the highest standards in the field.
Beyond clinical practice, I find immense joy in mentoring new and aspiring dentists, contributing to the growth and vibrancy of our professional community. This collaborative spirit extends to my personal life, where my wife, Dr. Ghanim, and I share a profound connection not only as life partners but also as dedicated dental professionals. Our shared passion for dentistry ignites a constant pursuit of excellence, a flame that fuels our commitment to elevating the practice of dentistry.
Away from the dental chair, I embrace the joys of life with my wife and extended family. Whether navigating mountain trails on a bike, reveling in the engineering marvels of cars, or strumming melodies on the guitar, I find balance in diverse interests that enrich my perspective.
Dentistry runs in the family—my sister, also a dentist in Houston, and I frequently attend continuing education courses together. Shop talk seamlessly blends into family dinner discussions, a testament to our unwavering dedication to our craft.
Recognizing the need for our skills in an underserved area, my wife and I made a conscious choice to establish ourselves in Dumas, far from our hometown of Dallas. Rooted in a desire to contribute to a community we could call our own, we planted our stake in Dumas and have been warmly embraced by its residents. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve this welcoming community and are eager to continue our journey in our newfound home.
Join us on this odyssey of smiles, where dentistry is not just a profession but a heartfelt commitment to the well-being of those we have the privilege to serve.

Welcome to the world of transformative smiles and dedicated dental care. I’m Dr. Ghanim, and my journey in dentistry is a testament to the pursuit of excellence and a passion for community well-being.
My American odyssey began at the age of 17 when my family and I moved to the United States. Graduating with distinction from North Garland High School, I earned several academic and community service scholarships, setting the stage for a fulfilling academic journey.
At the University of Texas at Dallas, I delved into the intricacies of Biology, graduating with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. This academic foundation propelled me to the Texas A&M School of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctorate in Dental Surgery, adorned with numerous academic and clinical accolades. These include the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society Award, the Odontological Honors Society Award, the Prosthodontics Society Award, and consistent placement on the Top 10% Dean’s List throughout my college and dental school years.
My commitment to comprehensive dental care extends to my membership in the Advanced General Dentistry and the American Orthodontic Association. I find immense joy in transforming smiles through Orthodontics, and I am equally passionate about providing specialized care to children alongside General Dentistry.
Life took a beautiful turn when I married my dental school best friend, Dr. Lawand. Together, we share a commitment to elevating the practice of dentistry and creating a positive impact on the lives of our patients.
Beyond the dental chair, I cherish moments with my family, relish the art of cooking a good meal, and continually deepen my understanding of Dentistry through ongoing learning and exploration. Every day is an opportunity to blend the art and science of dentistry, and I am honored to be part of your journey to a healthier, more radiant smile.
Join me in this odyssey of dental wellness, where each smile transformed is a testament to the artistry and precision that define our practice.
